Rocketry
Participate in our tried and tested STEM Rocketry Program which introduces concepts of rocketry, avionics, and data analysis to learners at different levels.
The program is also an opportunity for learners to work with software such as OpenRocket, Rocksim, Blender, KiCAD, EasyEDA, MATLAB, Simulink, etc. to understand how real-life rockets are designed and how data from their onboard sensors is analyzed to give engineers a clear picture of what is happening with the rocket

We are empowering educational institutions to build capacity among students at different levels interested in careers in aerospace and rocketry. Our approach gives students hands-on experience in the development of avionics systems and analyzing collected data.
-
Throughout the design and assembly process, students will touch on various practical skills in electronics, IoT, and data analysis within the realm of aerospace engineering. At the end of the program, students will have gained crucial problem-solving skills and technical proficiency to prepare them for future careers in STEM fields.
-
Our in-house developed avionics subsystems and 3D-printed rocket body tubes will facilitate the expansion of the program to African schools as we inspire the next generation of African innovators in aerospace technology.
AfriOrbit and Morgan State University
AfriOrbit conducts annual hands-on rocketry trainings at Morgan State University in Baltimore, which include designing, assembling, and testing the rocket’s avionics systems for data collection such as rocket trajectory, temperature, altitude, etc.
Learners design their rockets using open-source modeling software and then reproduce them using model rocket materials. Learners design and program the avionics board based on microcontrollers such as Arduino, ESP32, etc. Launching is done at the Maryland-Delaware Rocketry Association in Delaware.
AfriOrbit is currently developing a fully-fledged rocketry program, which includes a robust and agile avionics board and a rocket platform. This program is set to be rolled out in African countries, including Kenya, Ghana, etc.
